How it all started:

With close ties to Deia,Tara is a native New Yorker who was living in Washington DC and now calls Deia home.

The Deia Unpacked Podcast was forged by a global pandemic, and a love of hiking in the beautiful Serra Tramuntana mountains. Tara’s natural curiosity about the history, the beauty, and the people of Deia and Mallorca, seemed to lead organically towards a low key interview style where conversations could feel real and compelling, giving visitors an intimate look at the fascinating residents and visitors of this remarkable village and island.

Dear Listeners,

Like any good project, once the seeds were planted, I grew our team, allowing us to brainstorm our way into production. This involved family members, and close friends. I am forever grateful to Joseph, who helped me launch the podcast, Matthew and Karolina who did our cool logo and cover art, our super fabulous Tech Guy Bence, and musical artist Tristan Rene who wrote and performed our opening tune Tea Break. I would also like to give a special thanks to Hannah and Thomas at La Residencia, Deia for their support and faith in this endeavor. Recording on the premises of the historic and endlessly beautiful hotel La Residencia, allowed me to slip into the magic of Deia.
